Fraud Policy

FRAUD PREVENTION MISSION STATEMENT

The United States Liability Insurance Group recognizes that insurance fraud exists in the insurance industry. As such, it is the policy and mission of the Company to strive to protect its Customers and shareholders through the employment of an effective and diligent Anti-Fraud Plan.

As part of the Company’s management process, the United States Liability Insurance Group claim staff will endeavor to thoroughly review each claim with the specific goal of identifying those claims exhibiting fraud related indicators, red flag events and situations or behavior indicative of fraud schemes. Those identified will be directed for specialized handling.


ANTI-FRAUD PLAN

The purpose and goal of our Anti-Fraud Plan is to educate, detect, investigate and deter insurance fraud thereby reducing insurance costs.


SPECIAL INVESTIGATION UNIT (S.I.U.)

The Company has an S.I.U. composed of a three person Anti-Fraud review committee responsible for the review and disposition of all suspected fraudulent insurance acts, a two person Anti-Fraud team responsible for the detection, evaluation, investigation and reporting to state fraud bureaus, and a two person legal counsel.


POSITION

Insurance fraud will not be condoned by the United States Liability Insurance Group. Our personnel are dedicated to the prevention of insurance fraud and will aggressively review, analyze, monitor, investigate and prosecute fraudulent insurance acts to the fullest extent of the law. It is our position that the validity of such acts will receive the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise through complete investigation and evaluation toward their appropriate disposition. These acts in general are, but not limited to:

Application Fraud, Certificate of Insurance Fraud, Fraudulent Insurance Claims and the Understating Rating Exposures such as Sales, Payroll, etc.

Further, we will comply with state statutes with respect to the reporting, investigation, and preparation of Anti-Fraud Plans.


REPORTING

Suspected fraudulent insurance acts must be reported to the respective State Fraud Bureau where applicable. Those acts involving the United States Liability Insurance Group should be referred to the company using the sample referral form. Click here REFERRAL FORM

Privacy Policy

The United States Liability Insurance Group has adopted a privacy policy regarding information about our consumers and Customers. Under this policy, we will:

  • Notify our Customers of what we collect about them, what we disclose, who we disclose it to, and how we protect that information. This notice is called the “PRIVACY NOTICE”
  • Caution all nonaffiliated third parties with whom we do business against disclosing nonpublic information about our consumers and Customers in connection with any agreements we may have with them and/or services they may provide for us. This notice is called the “NOTICE”.

Initial and Renewal “PRIVACY NOTICE” to Customers

Home Office Issued Policies*: All required notices have been mailed directly from the Home Office prior to June 30, 2001. The required “PRIVACY NOTICE” will continue to be automatically included with all policies new and renewal issued by the Home Office.

* All Personal Lines policies including but not limited to “CPL”, “DP”, “HP”, “PAE”, “PCL”, “XL”, and “XPL” policy prefixes, in addition all “CP” policy prefixes issued in the name of “Estate of . . .”, all Liquor and Special Event policies with a “CL” prefix written in the name of an individual(s), and in the state of Pennsylvania all “WCP” policy prefixes.


“NOTICE” to Nonaffiliated Third Parties

The Home Office has issued and will continue to issue “NOTICE” to all nonaffiliated third parties with whom we do business cautioning against the disclosure of nonpublic consumer or customer information in connection with any agreements we may have with them and/or services they may provide to us.


Protection of Nonpublic Information

Our Company respects and protects the privacy of its consumers and Customers and has adopted a policy to minimize the sharing of their nonpublic information with nonaffiliated third parties. This information is protected physically, electronically, and administratively by procedures designed to ensure its safeguard. Everyone from our Directors to each of our people has been made aware of this practice.


Cookies

We use “cookies” on our Internet website only to collect login name and password information from our agents. This allows our agents to access secure areas of our website. Our website does not collect any other information from our agents, nor does it collect any information whatsoever from other individuals.
